Florida Ashram

The Yoga Shakti Mission, Palm Bay Ashram is a paradise created by Mataji (Ma Yoga Shakti) on twenty acres of pinewoods in the St. John’s River basin. Everyone who enters through the tree-lined driveway immediately feels peace and joy and the extraordinary beauty of the place. The whole Ashram is imbued with the purified vibrations of Mataji’s inspired creation.

The Ashram is dedicated to Divine Mother Durga and her temple is housed in a beautiful wooden building constructed by loving devotees under the inspiration and guidance of Mataji. The Temple is always open in daylight hours for devotees who wish to pray or meditate in the sacred silence and aarti is performed twice daily at 6:30 am and pm.

The purified vibrations of the Ashram provide a venue for peaceful prayer and spiritual practice. Regular hatha yoga classes are held in the screened sun-temple pavilion where practice is surrounded by views and sounds of the forest and nearby lake. The ashram hosts Sunday morning Sunshine Lectures and monthly international vegetarian lunches and bhajan-kirtans to inspire seekers and serve the local community. Twice yearly weekend retreats are held with a full program of classes, meditation and vegetarian meals. These retreats offer a rare opportunity to study yogic philosophy and practice in an Ashram.

Since it was founded in 1979 the Ashram has continued as an oasis of peace and enlightenment thanks to Mataji’s love and guidance and the many devotees throughout the years who have donated money, time or loving service. The resident devotees Shyama Shakti and Chitananda (Chip) have worked tirelessly since the Ashram’s inception to promote Mataji’s vision and care for the facility and visitors.

All are welcome to visit, meditate in the temple, join the classes or spend a weekend in a sacred and peaceful setting dedicated to Divine Mother.
